In a tragic incident, a woman was killed in elephant attack at Kanliki
village under Muktapasi forest range in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district
last night.
The deceased was identified as Saraswati Sahoo, sources said.
According to reports, the animal stormed into the village during night
and damaged many houses. While most of the villagers ran away to save
their lives, Saraswati was unable to do so and came in front of the
pachyderm.
She was grievously injured in the elephant attack and rushed to the
district headquarters hospital. However, Saraswati succumbed to her
injuries on the way to the hospital.
