In a tragic incident, a 45-year old man was crushed to death today by a tusker in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.
The person, identified as Anand Naik (45) of Harijan Sahi in Bampa section of Hindol forest range in Dhenkanal district, was attacked and killed by a tusker outside his house today, forest officials said.
“The incident occurred when the elephant attacked Anand Naik (45) early this morning. The tusker from nearby forest was outside his house when Naik came out,” Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Pradipta Kumar Sahoo said after handing over Rs 10,000 to the next of kin of the victim.
