A poachers curse

This morning we went to the edge of the park to record the details of a poached elephant. It was a haunting sight to see. Rather than falling on his side he had collapsed forward onto his chest. This made him seem more lifelike and impressive in size.

Some view this as a sign of bad luck, but it did not stop the poachers on this occasion. They had removed the trunk to better get at his tusks. Hyenas later carried this away. The ear had also been hacked away so that meat could be taken from beneath.

Another victim of human elephant relations.
