Three members of a family, including a child, were trampled to death by a herd of wild elephants in lower Assam’s Goalpara district in the early hours on Tuesday.
The marauding herd also destroyed their thatched hut, police said.
The herd of wild tuskers came out of the forest and trampled to death a young couple and their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter while they were asleep, police added.
