A farmer was trampled to death by an elephant in the Kadambur forest range in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve, forest officials said on Tuesday.
The 52-year-old farmer, Balaian, had tried to escape but the elephant chased him and trampled him to death on Monday night.
The post-mortem was conducted on Tuesday, police said.
