Heyya Everyone!!

My name is Nasrin Suleiman and I’m privileged to be interning at STE. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental management from Monash University in Malaysia some time back. My aim is to gain enough experience from different NGO’s in order to understand the systematic functionality of environmental and conservation organisation. I adjusted really fast to how things work mainly because I felt as though I was part of the close knit family immediately. Everyone is absolutely friendly and understanding.

Two months have passed since I started interning at STE and I must say what a great couple of months it has been. I first started with assisting Njoki organise and file all the latest ongoing projects to date. It may seem like a tedious job but on the contrary, it’s been interesting. The amount of information acquired going through each project and understanding how things operate is invaluable. This has definitely enhanced my administration and organising skills.

I’m currently involved in an African elephant library database project in close collaboration with IUCN African Elephant Specialist Group. I have started with scanning numerous elephant articles in preparation to transfer into the database. At the same time I’m also engrossed in analyzing some wildlife documents. Hopefully sometime soon I will be experiencing life at the Samburu research camp. I will definitely keep you posted on what will happen next…
