An tusker calf was found dead in a lake close Bampa town under Hindol jungle range in the district this morning. As indicated by reports, a group of elephant strayed into the town last evening to drink water from the pond. However, the tusker calf couldn’t move out of the pond as it got trapped in the mud.
On being informed about the incident, forest officials rushed to the spot and seized the carcass of the pachyderm, sources said.
