An individual has been critically injured after being attacked by a wild elephant behind his residence in Thanamalwila-Balangoda police division, Police Media Spokesperson stated this.
He succumbed to his injuries after being transferred to Embilipitiya Hospital.
The deceased was identified as a 49-year-old resident of Hambegamuwa area.
Police are carrying out further investigations into the incident.
