Summary
Beehive fences in Sagalla, Kenya, help prevent conflicts between farmers and crop-raiding elephants, benefiting both by deterring elephants and providing crop protection and pollination. Despite concerns about honeybees out-competing wild bees, the study found no significant differences in wild bee abundance, species richness, or community composition between farms with and without beehive fences, suggesting minimal long-term impact.
