Master of Science (MSc) Scholarships

Save the Elephants’ (STE) mission is to secure a future for elephants and sustain the beauty and ecological integrity of their habitats, promote appreciation of their intelligence and the diversity of their world, and foster a tolerant relationship between people and elephants.

In support of the career development of young scholars in the biodiversity and environmental fields, STE offers full scholarships for a Master of Science (MSc) degree to eligible Kenyan students pursuing postgraduate studies in natural sciences.

 



Eligibility Criteria and Conditions

 


 

  • A Kenyan national with a first degree in natural sciences (Zoology, Botany, Biology, Environmental Sciences, Wildlife Management or other related disciplines) from a recognized university.
  • A pass mark of first or second-class upper division in the first-degree (A mandatory requirement). 
  • Two years of experience (since graduation) in a busy conservation organization or department (Volunteer work and internships count).
  • Have secured, or be eligible to secure, admission to a full-time, in-person MSc programme in a relevant natural sciences discipline. 
  • Must be under 35 years of age at the time of application.
  • A research concept note (Max 1 page) is desirable but NOT mandatory. 

 


Save the Elephants partners with selected universities each year, and the eligible institutions will be announced when the scholarship application period opens. Further application details and submission requirements will also be made available at that time
