The Community Health Project was launched in 2021 in Sagalla village in Tsavo, a human-dominated area nestled between Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks. This initiative integrates healthcare services with sustainable living practices to address the challenges faced by communities sharing the landscape with elephants.

The project is executed in collaboration with the local communities, government agencies, social service departments, conservation and humanitarian organizations. By pooling resources and expertise, the initiative ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality healthcare services and information, while simultaneously promoting sustainable environmental practices.

Beyond healthcare, the project addresses human-elephant conflict by facilitating access to information on coexistence strategies. Community members benefit from informative sessions led by experts, where they engage in practical methods to protect their farms and other precious resources within their boundaries.
